| 1 | Stay calm. |
| 2 | Call for police and/or medical help. |
| 3 | Stay at the scene of the accident until the authorities arrive. |
| 4 | Make sure the officer fills out a report including your version of the events. |
| 5 | Do not admit to causing the accident or indicate that you were at fault. Simply give the officer the facts of the accident as you recall them. There are many factors to be considered before fault can be assigned. |
| 6 | Get the name of the officer taking the report and exchange name, address, driver's license, and insurance information with the other driver (if it not included on the officer's report). |
| 7 | Make a list of questions and concerns you may have. |
| 8 | Call the claim's center at 1-800-421-3535 or your insurance agent. |
